Hello I'm Mimi. I thought it was about time to introduce
myself formally to the family since my adoption was now
several months old and it looks to me that my new owner
Theresa is going to keep me.
Believe me I've been a bit hesitant about calling Pebble
Creek home after all I've been through. I won't go into
details but suffice it to say I was one angry kitty by the
time Sue Ann met me at the shelter. I had been taken
into a very nice home when I first was turned into the
shelter by my original owners (those so and sos that didn't
want me--they said because of allergies but I know they
just didn't like me!) and I thought it was going to be my
forever home. OK, so I wasn't a rubbing up against your
legs, sit in your lap kind of cat while I was there and I
thought it was my fault when in 6 short weeks I was
returned to the shelter. It turns out the lady who had me
for the short stay in her home was a foster pet parent and
I was there to get sociallized. Ha! All it did was make me
more distrustful of humans, I decided then and there that
noone was going to get next to my heart.
About this time is when Sue Ann started visiting with me
weekly. She would come in for a few minutes each week,
I knew she was just there to look at the kittens and their
Mommies who were in cubicles in the room where the
shelter people had me. You see I was such a special cat
that they decided it would be better for me if I had my
own private cubicle rather than being put in the
community room. While I agree that I am very special it
was really boring in my own cubicle. Anyway every time
Sue Ann opened my cubicle I would hiss and growl just to
let her know that I didin't appreciate the interuption. But
that didn't seem to bother her any in fact she would talk
quietly and tell me how beautiful I was and scratch my
head. I must say that I sort of liked that but after a few
minutes I'd had enough and would give her a swat and
and let loose with a really good hiss and sometimes
through in a good yowl just for effect. After several
months of visits I was crated up (everyone knows that
being put in a carrier is not good news) and loaded in Sue
Ann's car. That is when I first met Theresa. They took
me to my new home, they openen the cage in a very nice
bedroom with a wonderfully large bed. (All cats know that
if the bed is large enough no one can reach you when you
hide under it.) And that is exactly where I dived when the
door opened under the bed. Persisitant Sue Ann and now
she had an accomplice, Theresa, sat it the room and
talked to me as I sat under the bed, it was very scary.
Next thing I know Sue Ann was taking my
picture...sheesh I was under the bed for cripes sake, that
should have told her that I wasn't in a picture posing
mood, so I gave her my worse scrowl. I guess I'll have to
live that photo down now that I've decided to call
Theresa's my home. Well that is all for my first entry into
my cyber diary...I'm getting a bit sleep from all this effort
so I think I'll just go under my favorite chair for a nap.

Just in case you are wondering
If you are wondering what me and stamping have in common...I just spend a lot of time with my stamper friend, so much in fact that I'm often seen with dazzling diamonds glitter in my fur....I think it makes me look elegant. I don't roll in the stuff or anything but it does have a way of getting on me, I think because I get petted alot!
This is my first real blog attempt. I have been "published" already in Sun Valley Animal Shelter Newsletter. I've been looking at my computer files and can't seem to locate my biography...I know it is here somewhere. Perhaps it was lost last year when we suffered a hard drive cash. I do have a hard copy that I could type in I guess.
Just to give you a few details about myself. I'm 4 years old and am a Munchkin cat. I live with my step sister, Sadie. She doesn't like me because I look at her funny. But Sadie is overweight and I can't help but stare at her. Fortunately I am very quick and Sadie waddles, so she never has been able to catch me! I particularly like to hang out in the den where the computer is so I've decided to start my own blog.
